Rita Serra is a researcher at the Risk Observatory (OSIRIS) and at the Science, Economy and Society Research Group. She has a background in Biology and a PhD in Biological and Chemical Engineering. She studied the biodiversity of agricultural and forest Mediterranean cultures, concerning food safety purposes and biotechnological innovations. Her current research is devoted to risks that result from the interaction between natural and social systems, using perspectives from science and technology studies.
