Course Lexicometry and Discourse analysis in Barcelona next May 2015

Dr. Gäel Plumecocq will offer a 2 day course on "Lexicometry and Discourse analysis" next 6-7 of May 2015 at ICTA - UAB Campus.

Lexicometry is the measurement of the frequency with which words occur in text. It provides statistical indicators and graphical representations that enable investigating written texts. Lexicometry provides quantitative measurements and indicators of texts as well as the basis for qualitative analysis. Gaël Plumecocq is fellow researcher in socio-economics at the French Institute for Agricultural Researches (INRA).

He is currently investigating the ways in which collective judgments are formed (on sustainable performance or on products quality), involving knowledge and moral norms, as a condition of possible collective actions. To formally represent this issue, he uses lexicometric methodology, multicriteria assessment, and integrated evaluation frameworks.
