Entitle offers a workshop on Land, Water and Climate Change in Ethiopia

ENTITLE's first workshop in Africa will take place from 29 September - 1 October 2015 at the German Goethe Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia under the title Land, Water & Climate Change: Institutions in Ethiopian Agrarian Transformation. The aim is to problematize the diverse dimensions and dynamics of agrarian transformation confronting East Africa today, particularly concerning institutional aspects of access to land and water under environmental changes.

With this workshop our research group from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is bringing ENTITLE to Africa and linking up with established international organizations including the GIZ (German Corporation for International Cooperation), the AU (African Union Commission) and the German Goethe Institute. Most speakers are academics and NGO/CSO members from Ethiopia with a small visiting delegation from Mozambique and Tanzania. The presenters at the workshop have varied disciplinary backgrounds with the intention to draw out connections to political ecology.

Public Lectures:

On September 29 at 16:30 in Addis Ababa a public lecture by two outstanding agrarian experts will launch the workshop, followed by a reception at 18.00.
