Statistics for Environmental Scientists
Fall Semester

Statistics for Environmental Scientists

Instructors: Assoc. Prof. Andrzej Furman

The course intends to introduce statistical methods and tests used to analyze environmental data. It follows the general linear models approach and includes topics on descriptive statistics, reliability and validity, distributions, significance, confidence intervals, simple statistical models, data transformation, non-parametric models, and complex statistical models. Techniques related to fitting, standardizing, and presenting various types of experimental data are also discussed. The stress is put on applications rather than theoretical issues.
